The Gita · Chapter 6

Bhagavad Gita 6.10

योगी युञ्जीत सततमात्मानं रहसि स्थितः। एकाकी यतचित्तात्मा निराशीरपरिग्रहः॥

yogī yuñjīta satatam ātmānaṁ rahasi sthitaḥ ekākī yata-chittātmā nirāśhīr aparigrahaḥ

Translation

Let the Yogî constantly engage himself in yoga, remaining in a secret place by himself, with thought and self subdued, free from hope and greed.

What it means

Let the yogi practice constantly, alone, in solitude, mind and body restrained, free from expectation and possessiveness. The conditions are austere on purpose: attention needs a low-noise environment to stabilize.

Try this today

The practice instruction begins: solitude, regularity, and non-grasping as the setup.

Something to reflect on

Where is my low-noise place, and how often do I actually go there?
