Translation

There, having made the mind one-pointed, with thought and the functions of the senses subdued, steady on his seat, he should practise yoga for the purification of the self.

What it means

Seated there, making the mind one-pointed, restraining thought and the senses, let one practice yoga for the purification of the self. The purpose is stated plainly: purification. Meditation is cleaning, not escape.

Try this today

The method stated plainly: one-pointedness on a stable seat, aimed at purification.

Something to reflect on

What is my practice actually for - cleaning, or escape?
