The Gita · Chapter 6

Bhagavad Gita 6.13

समं कायशिरोग्रीवं धारयन्नचलं स्थिरः। संप्रेक्ष्य नासिकाग्रं स्वं दिशश्चानवलोकयन्॥

samaṁ kāya-śhiro-grīvaṁ dhārayann achalaṁ sthiraḥ samprekṣhya nāsikāgraṁ svaṁ diśhaśh chānavalokayan

Translation

Holding the body, head and neck erect, immovably steady, looking fixedly at the point of the nose, with unseeing gaze,

What it means

Holding body, head and neck erect and still, gazing toward the nose-tip without looking around. Posture is the first discipline of attention. A settled frame supports a settled mind.

Try this today

Posture mechanics: erect, still, gaze fixed - the body is made boring so the mind can be interesting.

Something to reflect on

What happens to my mind when I make my body still and boring for ten minutes?
