Translation

Supreme joy is for this Yogi whose mind is peaceful, whose passion-nature is calmed, who is sinless and of the nature of the Eternal.

What it means

Supreme joy comes to this yogi whose mind is at peace, whose restlessness is quieted, who is stainless, become one with the Eternal. The sequence runs: peace of mind, then joy. Calm is the doorway, not the decoration.

Try this today

The payoff repeated at the chapter's center: peace, quieted craving, joy.

Something to reflect on

Do I seek joy first and hope for calm later, or the other way around?
