The Gita · Chapter 6

Bhagavad Gita 6.37

अयतिः श्रद्धयोपेतो योगाच्चलितमानसः। अप्राप्य योगसंसिद्धिं कां गतिं कृष्ण गच्छति॥

arjuna uvācha ayatiḥ śhraddhayopeto yogāch chalita-mānasaḥ aprāpya yoga-sansiddhiṁ kāṅ gatiṁ kṛiṣhṇa gachchhati

Translation

Arjuna said: He who is unsubdued but who possesseth faith, with the mind wandering away from yoga, failing to attain perfection in yoga, what path doth he tread, O Krishna?

What it means

Arjuna asks about the person who has faith but whose mind wanders from yoga, failing to reach perfection: what happens to them? The question every sincere practitioner eventually asks: is partial progress wasted?

Try this today

The sincere quitter's question: what happens to someone who tries honestly and fails?

Something to reflect on

What do I believe happens to my sincere half-attempts - are they wasted?
