Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 8

Bhagavad Gita 8.12

सर्वद्वाराणि संयम्य मनो हृदि निरुध्य च। मूर्ध्न्याधायात्मनः प्राणमास्थितो योगधारणाम्॥

sarva-dvārāṇi sanyamya mano hṛidi nirudhya cha mūrdhnyādhāyātmanaḥ prāṇam āsthito yoga-dhāraṇām

Translation

All the gates closed, the mind confined in the heart, the life-breath fixed in his own head, concentrated by yoga,

What it means

All the gates of the body closed, the mind held in the heart, the life-breath established in the head, steady in yogic concentration. The body's exits are sealed so attention cannot leak. Withdrawal is total and deliberate.

Try this today

The full inward sealing: senses closed, mind gathered, breath raised - total internal consolidation.

Something to reflect on

Where does my attention leak, and what would sealing it feel like?
