The Gita · Chapter 9

Bhagavad Gita 9.12

मोघाशा मोघकर्माणो मोघज्ञाना विचेतसः। राक्षसीमासुरीं चैव प्रकृतिं मोहिनीं श्रिताः॥

moghāśhā mogha-karmāṇo mogha-jñānā vichetasaḥ rākṣhasīm āsurīṁ chaiva prakṛitiṁ mohinīṁ śhritāḥ

Translation

Empty of hope, empty of deeds, empty of wisdom, senseless, partaking of the deceitful, brutal and demoniacal nature.

What it means

Vain in hope, vain in action, vain in knowledge, devoid of discernment, they share in the deluding, brutal, demonic nature. Misdirected life compounds: wrong seeing becomes wrong doing, then wrong being.

Try this today

The cost of sustained misreading: effort and learning both render void.

Something to reflect on

Has misreading a situation ever compounded into wasted years for me?
