Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 9

Bhagavad Gita 9.11

अवजानन्ति मां मूढा मानुषीं तनुमाश्रितम्। परं भावमजानन्तो मम भूतमहेश्वरम्॥

avajānanti māṁ mūḍhā mānuṣhīṁ tanum āśhritam paraṁ bhāvam ajānanto mama bhūta-maheśhvaram

Translation

The foolish disregard Me, when clad in human semblance, ignorant of My supreme nature, the great Lord of beings;

What it means

Fools disregard Me clothed in human form, not knowing My higher nature as the great Lord of beings. Familiarity breeds dismissal. The extraordinary is routinely missed because it arrives looking ordinary.

Try this today

The recognition problem: form obscures essence for those who read only surfaces.

Something to reflect on

Where am I reading a surface and missing the significance?
