Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 9

Bhagavad Gita 9.30

अपि चेत्सुदुराचारो भजते मामनन्यभाक्। साधुरेव स मन्तव्यः सम्यग्व्यवसितो हि सः॥

api chet su-durāchāro bhajate mām ananya-bhāk sādhur eva sa mantavyaḥ samyag vyavasito hi saḥ

Translation

Even if the most sinful worship Me, with un divided heart, he too must be accounted righteous, for he hath rightly resolved;

What it means

Even if a person of the worst conduct worships Me with undivided devotion, that one is to be regarded as good, for the resolve is right. Direction outweighs history. A settled aim toward the good is already goodness begun.

Try this today

The radical inclusion: direction outranks history. A right resolve reclassifies the person.

Something to reflect on

Whom have I written off whose direction might already be right?
