Bhagavad Gita 1.32
Translation
For I desire not victory, O Krishna, nor kingdom, nor pleasures; what is kingdom to us, O Govinda, what enjoyment or even life?
What it means
He renounces the prizes: "I desire not victory, nor kingdom, nor pleasures." Renunciation born of despair is not yet wisdom. The teaching ahead distinguishes giving up from true detachment, which acts fully without clutching results.
Try this today
He questions the value of the prize itself. Sometimes the bravest question is whether the goal is worth the cost.
Something to reflect on
Which of my current goals would lose its appeal if I counted its full cost?
