Bhagavad Gita 1.39
कथं न ज्ञेयमस्माभिः पापादस्मान्निवर्तितुम्। कुलक्षयकृतं दोषं प्रपश्यद्भिर्जनार्दन॥
kathaṁ na jñeyam asmābhiḥ pāpād asmān nivartitum kula-kṣhaya-kṛitaṁ doṣhaṁ prapaśhyadbhir janārdana
Translation
Why should not we learn to turn away from such a sin, O Janârdana, who see the evils in the destruction of a family?
What it means
"We who see the evils should turn away from this sin." Arjuna assumes his view of the situation is the clear one. Krishna's teaching will show that his vision, though compassionate, is still clouded, by grief, by fear, and by a narrow reading of duty.
Try this today
Seeing wrong obligates you differently than not seeing it. Awareness raises responsibility.
Something to reflect on
What do I clearly see is wrong that I am still going along with?
