The Gita · Chapter 10

Bhagavad Gita 10.27

उच्चैःश्रवसमश्वानां विद्धि माममृतोद्भवम्। ऐरावतं गजेन्द्राणां नराणां च नराधिपम्॥

uchchaiḥśhravasam aśhvānāṁ viddhi mām amṛitodbhavam airāvataṁ gajendrāṇāṁ narāṇāṁ cha narādhipam

Translation

Uchchaishravas of horses know me, nectar-born; Airâvata of lordly elephants, and of men the Monarch.

What it means

Among horses, nectar-born Uchchaishravas; among lordly elephants, Airavata; among humans, the king. Even social rank is folded in: sovereignty at its best reflects a higher rule.

Try this today

Speed, majesty, sovereignty - each animal and social peak.

Something to reflect on

What does sovereignty at its best look like among the people I know?
