Bhagavad Gita 10.32

सर्गाणामादिरन्तश्च मध्यं चैवाहमर्जुन। अध्यात्मविद्या विद्यानां वादः प्रवदतामहम्॥

sargāṇām ādir antaśh cha madhyaṁ chaivāham arjuna adhyātma-vidyā vidyānāṁ vādaḥ pravadatām aham

Translation

Of creations the beginning and the ending, and also the middle am I, O Arjuna. Of sciences the science concerning the Self; the speech of orators I.

What it means

Of all creation I am the beginning, the end and the middle; among sciences, the science of the Self; among debaters, the winning argument. Knowledge of the Self is crowned above all disciplines. Everything else is commentary on it.

Try this today

The chapter's pivot inward: among all fields of knowledge, self-knowledge is the summit.

Something to reflect on

Which of my studies has ever turned back to examine me?
