The Gita · Chapter 11

Bhagavad Gita 11.1

मदनुग्रहाय परमं गुह्यमध्यात्मसंज्ञितम्। यत्त्वयोक्तं वचस्तेन मोहोऽयं विगतो मम॥

arjuna uvācha mad-anugrahāya paramaṁ guhyam adhyātma-sanjñitam yat tvayoktaṁ vachas tena moho ’yaṁ vigato mama

Translation

Arjuna said: This word of the supreme Secret concerning the Self, Thou hast spoken out of compassion; by this my delusion is taken away.

What it means

Arjuna testifies: by this supreme secret about the Self, spoken out of compassion, my delusion has been removed. The teaching has worked. Understanding, when it lands, is felt as a clearing.

Try this today

The student first confirms the teaching worked: the confusion that opened the Gita is gone.

Something to reflect on

When has understanding landed in me as a felt clearing rather than more information?
