The Gita · Chapter 11

Bhagavad Gita 11.38

त्वमादिदेवः पुरुषः पुराण स्त्वमस्य विश्वस्य परं निधानम्। वेत्तासि वेद्यं च परं च धाम त्वया ततं विश्वमनन्तरूप॥

tvam ādi-devaḥ puruṣhaḥ purāṇas tvam asya viśhvasya paraṁ nidhānam vettāsi vedyaṁ cha paraṁ cha dhāma tvayā tataṁ viśhvam ananta-rūpa

Translation

First of the Gods, most ancient Man Thou art. Supreme receptacle of all that lives; Knower and known, the dwelling-place on high; In Thy vast Form the universe is spread.

What it means

You are the first of gods, the ancient Person, the supreme resting-place of the universe, the knower and the known, the supreme abode; by You is the universe spread out. The titles now come calmly. Terror is converting into theology.

Try this today

Weaver and fabric: knowledge and its object both held in one.

Something to reflect on

When did terror convert into understanding for me, mid-experience?
