The Gita · Chapter 11

Bhagavad Gita 11.43

pitāsi lokasya charācharasya tvam asya pūjyaśh cha gurur garīyān na tvat-samo ’sty abhyadhikaḥ kuto ’nyo loka-traye ’py apratima-prabhāva

Translation

Father of worlds, of all that moves and stands, Worthier of reverence than the Guru's self, There is none like to Thee. Who passeth Thee? Pre-eminent Thy power in all the worlds.

What it means

Father of the moving and unmoving world, worthy of worship, greater than the guru; there is none like You in the three worlds; who could be greater? The hierarchy is settled at last. The friend is also the unsurpassable One.

Try this today

Rank restored by recognition: beyond teacher, beyond comparison.

Something to reflect on

Where have I finally settled a ranking I used to argue about?
