Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 13

Bhagavad Gita 13.25

अन्ये त्वेवमजानन्तः श्रुत्वाऽन्येभ्य उपासते।तेऽपि चातितरन्त्येव मृत्युं श्रुतिपरायणाः॥

anye tv evam ajānantaḥ śhrutvānyebhya upāsate te ’pi chātitaranty eva mṛityuṁ śhruti-parāyaṇāḥ

Translation

Others also, ignorant of this, having heard of it from others, worship; and these also cross beyond death, adhering to what they had heard.

What it means

Others, not knowing in these ways, worship having heard from others; they too cross beyond death, devoted to what they have heard. Even second-hand faith, sincerely followed, carries across. Hearing well is also a path.

Try this today

The heard-path honored: even secondhand understanding, faithfully held, carries across.

Something to reflect on

What have I faithfully followed on good hearsay alone - and did it carry me?
