Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 13

Bhagavad Gita 13.31

अनादित्वान्निर्गुणत्वात्परमात्मायमव्ययः।शरीरस्थोऽपि कौन्तेय न करोति न लिप्यते॥

anāditvān nirguṇatvāt paramātmāyam avyayaḥ śharīra-stho ’pi kaunteya na karoti na lipyate

Translation

Being beginningless and without qualities, the imperishable supreme Self, though seated in the body, O Kaunteya, worketh not nor is affected.

What it means

Beginningless and free of qualities, this imperishable supreme Self, though dwelling in the body, neither acts nor is stained. Presence is not entanglement. The Self is in the world the way space is in a room.

Try this today

Actionless and stainless despite residence: the sun does not get wet by shining on water.

Something to reflect on

Can I be present in the mess without being stained by it - space in the room?
