The Gita · Chapter 14

Bhagavad Gita 14.10

रजस्तमश्चाभिभूय सत्त्वं भवति भारत।रजः सत्त्वं तमश्चैव तमः सत्त्वं रजस्तथा॥

rajas tamaśh chābhibhūya sattvaṁ bhavati bhārata rajaḥ sattvaṁ tamaśh chaiva tamaḥ sattvaṁ rajas tathā

Translation

Now Harmony prevaileth, having overpowered Motion and Inertia, O Bhârata; now Motion, having overpowered Harmony and Inertia; and now Inertia, having overpowered Harmony and Motion.

What it means

Now sattva prevails, overpowering rajas and tamas; now rajas, overpowering the others; now tamas. The inner weather rotates. Who you seem to be at any hour is largely which guna is on top.

Try this today

The inner weather report: the three rotate constantly - no state is permanent.

Something to reflect on

Can I read my inner weather without declaring it permanent?
