The Gita · Chapter 15

Bhagavad Gita 15.11

यतन्तो योगिनश्चैनं पश्यन्त्यात्मन्यवस्थितम्।यतन्तोऽप्यकृतात्मानो नैनं पश्यन्त्यचेतसः॥

yatanto yoginaśh chainaṁ paśhyanty ātmany avasthitam yatanto ‘py akṛitātmāno nainaṁ paśhyanty achetasaḥ

Translation

Yogîs also, struggling, perceive Him, established in the Self; but though struggling, the unintelligent perceive Him not, their selves untrained.

What it means

Striving yogis perceive the Self dwelling within; but the unintelligent, their selves untrained, do not perceive it though striving. Effort alone is insufficient; refinement of the instrument matters. The unseen is seen by a prepared seer.

Try this today

Effort alone is not sufficient: striving without clarity and self-command still misses.

Something to reflect on

Is my striving paired with refinement, or am I revving a dirty engine?
