The Gita · Chapter 15

Bhagavad Gita 15.12

यदादित्यगतं तेजो जगद्भासयतेऽखिलम्।यच्चन्द्रमसि यच्चाग्नौ तत्तेजो विद्धि मामकम्॥

yad āditya-gataṁ tejo jagad bhāsayate ’khilam yach chandramasi yach chāgnau tat tejo viddhi māmakam

Translation

That splendour issuing from the sun that enlighteneth the whole world, that which is in the moon and in fire, that splendour know as from Me.

What it means

The splendor in the sun that illumines the whole world, and that in the moon and in fire: know that splendor as Mine. All light is claimed as one light. Every lamp in the universe burns with the same flame.

Try this today

The light-attribution verse: every source of light borrows from one source.

Something to reflect on

What is the one flame behind every lamp in my life?
