The Gita · Chapter 15

Bhagavad Gita 15.9

श्रोत्रं चक्षुः स्पर्शनं च रसनं घ्राणमेव च।अधिष्ठाय मनश्चायं विषयानुपसेवते॥

śhrotraṁ chakṣhuḥ sparśhanaṁ cha rasanaṁ ghrāṇam eva cha adhiṣhṭhāya manaśh chāyaṁ viṣhayān upasevate

Translation

Enshrined in the ear, the eye, the touch, the taste and the smell, and in the mind also, He enjoyeth the objects of the senses

What it means

Dwelling in hearing, sight, touch, taste and smell, and in the mind, it experiences the objects of the senses. The soul lives through the instruments it gathered. Experience is borrowed; the experiencer is not.

Try this today

The resident experiences through the equipment: senses are windows, not the looker.

Something to reflect on

Am I the windows or the looker in my own head?
