Bhagavad Gita 17.7

आहारस्त्वपि सर्वस्य त्रिविधो भवति प्रियः।यज्ञस्तपस्तथा दानं तेषां भेदमिमं श्रृणु॥

āhāras tv api sarvasya tri-vidho bhavati priyaḥ yajñas tapas tathā dānaṁ teṣhāṁ bhedam imaṁ śhṛiṇu

Translation

The food also which is dear to each is threefold, as also sacrifice, austerity and almsgiving. Hear thou the distinction of these.

What it means

Food also is of three kinds, dear to each; so are sacrifice, austerity and almsgiving; hear the distinctions. The analysis moves to daily life. Even the plate reveals the guna.

Try this today

Even diet is typed: the analysis extends to what you eat, give and renounce.

Something to reflect on

What do my plate, my giving and my discipline reveal about my mode?
