Bhagavad Gita 18.60
स्वभावजेन कौन्तेय निबद्धः स्वेन कर्मणा।कर्तुं नेच्छसि यन्मोहात्करिष्यस्यवशोऽपि तत्॥
swbhāva-jena kaunteya nibaddhaḥ svena karmaṇā kartuṁ nechchhasi yan mohāt kariṣhyasy avaśho ’pi tat
Translation
O son of Kuntî, bound by thine own duty born of thine own nature, that which from delusion thou desirest not to do, even that helplessly thou shalt perform.
What it means
Bound by your own duty, born of your own nature, what you wish in delusion not to do, even that you will do helplessly. Better to choose the inevitable than to be dragged by it. Consent converts compulsion into duty.
Try this today
Nature's momentum: the warrior will fight; the only freedom is in how consciously.
Something to reflect on
What will my nature make me do anyway - and can I consent to it consciously?
