The Gita · Chapter 2

Bhagavad Gita 2.24

अच्छेद्योऽयमदाह्योऽयमक्लेद्योऽशोष्य एव च। नित्यः सर्वगतः स्थाणुरचलोऽयं सनातनः॥

achchhedyo ’yam adāhyo ’yam akledyo ’śhoṣhya eva cha nityaḥ sarva-gataḥ sthāṇur achalo ’yaṁ sanātanaḥ

Translation

Uncleavable he, incombustible he, and indeed neither to be wetted nor dried away; perpetual, all-pervasive, stable, immovable, ancient.

What it means

Uncuttable, unburnable, all-pervasive, stable, immovable, eternal. The repetitions are deliberate: the mind needs the truth said many ways before it stops treating the body as the whole story.

Try this today

A litany that hammers one point: the essential is not at the mercy of circumstances.

Something to reflect on

Do I need the truth repeated until I stop living as if circumstances are the whole story?
