Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 2

Bhagavad Gita 2.37

हतो वा प्राप्स्यसि स्वर्गं जित्वा वा भोक्ष्यसे महीम्। तस्मादुत्तिष्ठ कौन्तेय युद्धाय कृतनिश्चयः॥

hato vā prāpsyasi swargaṁ jitvā vā bhokṣhyase mahīm tasmād uttiṣhṭha kaunteya yuddhāya kṛita-niśhchayaḥ

Translation

Slain, thou wilt obtain heaven; victorious, thou wilt enjoy the earth; therefore stand up, O son of Kuntî, resolute to fight.

What it means

Slain, you gain heaven; victorious, you enjoy the earth; therefore stand, resolved to fight. Either outcome serves a warrior acting in duty. When action is right, both results are gains.

Try this today

Both outcomes of a righteous effort are acceptable; only refusal is loss. Reframed: act well and no outcome can truly defeat you.

Something to reflect on

What would change if I trusted that doing my part well makes every outcome survivable?
