Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 2

Bhagavad Gita 2.47

कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन। मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भूर्मा ते सङ्गोऽस्त्वकर्मणि॥

karmaṇy-evādhikāras te mā phaleṣhu kadāchana mā karma-phala-hetur bhūr mā te saṅgo ’stvakarmaṇi

Translation

Thy business is with the action only, never with its fruits; so let not the fruit of action be thy motive, nor be thou to inaction attached.

What it means

Your right is to action alone, never to its fruits; do not let results be your motive, nor cling to inaction. The complete formula in one verse: full engagement, zero clutching.

Try this today

You control the work, not the results. Do the work fully for its own sake - and let the outcomes be what they will be.

Something to reflect on

What would my work look like if I gave it everything and owned none of the outcome?
