The Gita · Chapter 2

Bhagavad Gita 2.48

योगस्थः कुरु कर्माणि सङ्गं त्यक्त्वा धनञ्जय। सिद्ध्यसिद्ध्योः समो भूत्वा समत्वं योग उच्यते॥

yoga-sthaḥ kuru karmāṇi saṅgaṁ tyaktvā dhanañjaya siddhy-asiddhyoḥ samo bhūtvā samatvaṁ yoga uchyate

Translation

Perform action, O Dhananjaya, dwelling in union with the divine, renouncing attachments and balanced evenly in success and failure: equilibrium is called yoga.

What it means

Established in yoga, act, abandoning attachment, equal in success and failure. Evenness of mind is called yoga. The definition strips yoga down to one thing: steadiness while fully acting.

Try this today

Yoga is defined operationally: evenness of mind while acting fully. Not withdrawal - steadiness inside full engagement.

Something to reflect on

Can I act at full intensity while holding the result lightly?
