The Gita · Chapter 2

Bhagavad Gita 2.51

कर्मजं बुद्धियुक्ता हि फलं त्यक्त्वा मनीषिणः। जन्मबन्धविनिर्मुक्ताः पदं गच्छन्त्यनामयम्॥

karma-jaṁ buddhi-yuktā hi phalaṁ tyaktvā manīṣhiṇaḥ janma-bandha-vinirmuktāḥ padaṁ gachchhanty-anāmayam

Translation

The Sages, united to the Pure Reason, renounce the fruit which action yieldeth, and, liberated from the bonds of birth, they go to the blissful seat.

What it means

The wise, renouncing the fruit of action, freed from the bond of birth, go to the abode beyond sorrow. Freedom is the fruit of fruitlessness: release the claim on results and the path opens.

Try this today

The promise: acting without grasping progressively unties the knot that pulls one back into compulsive cycles.

Something to reflect on

What result am I gripping that keeps me tied to a cycle I say I want to leave?
