Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 2

Bhagavad Gita 2.52

यदा ते मोहकलिलं बुद्धिर्व्यतितरिष्यति। तदा गन्तासि निर्वेदं श्रोतव्यस्य श्रुतस्य च॥

yadā te moha-kalilaṁ buddhir vyatitariṣhyati tadā gantāsi nirvedaṁ śhrotavyasya śhrutasya cha

Translation

When thy mind shall escape from this tangle of delusion, then thou shalt rise to indifference as to what has been heard and shall be heard.

What it means

When your mind crosses the thicket of delusion, you will become indifferent to what has been heard and is yet to be heard. Beyond accumulation of teachings lies direct clarity. Even learning is eventually left behind.

Try this today

Beyond a point, second-hand doctrine - even sacred - stops being the authority; direct clarity is.

Something to reflect on

At what point does more teaching become a substitute for my own clarity?
