Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 2

Bhagavad Gita 2.53

श्रुतिविप्रतिपन्ना ते यदा स्थास्यति निश्चला। समाधावचला बुद्धिस्तदा योगमवाप्स्यसि॥

śhruti-vipratipannā te yadā sthāsyati niśhchalā samādhāv-achalā buddhis tadā yogam avāpsyasi

Translation

When thy mind, bewildered by the Scriptures, shall stand immovable, fixed in contemplation, then shalt thou attain unto yoga.

What it means

When the mind, long bewildered by scripture, stands immovable in contemplation, then you attain yoga. Texts inform but cannot fix the mind. Stillness completes what study begins.

Try this today

Information, even holy information, can bewilder. Stability, not accumulation, completes the path.

Something to reflect on

Is my restlessness a lack of information or a lack of stillness?
