Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 3

Bhagavad Gita 3.16

एवं प्रवर्तितं चक्रं नानुवर्तयतीह यः। अघायुरिन्द्रियारामो मोघं पार्थ स जीवति॥

evaṁ pravartitaṁ chakraṁ nānuvartayatīha yaḥ aghāyur indriyārāmo moghaṁ pārtha sa jīvati

Translation

He who on earth doth not follow the wheel thus revolving, sinful of life and rejoicing in the senses, he, O son of Pritha, liveth in vain.

What it means

Who does not turn with this wheel, living for the senses, lives in vain. To take from the cycle and return nothing is to waste a life. Meaning is found in one's turn at the wheel.

Try this today

Opting out of the reciprocal cycle entirely is called a wasted life, however comfortable.

Something to reflect on

Where do I take from cycles I refuse to turn - community, family, planet?
