Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 3

Bhagavad Gita 3.2

व्यामिश्रेणेव वाक्येन बुद्धिं मोहयसीव मे। तदेकं वद निश्िचत्य येन श्रेयोऽहमाप्नुयाम्॥

vyāmiśhreṇeva vākyena buddhiṁ mohayasīva me tad ekaṁ vada niśhchitya yena śhreyo ’ham āpnuyām

Translation

With these perplexing words Thou only confusest my understanding; therefore tell me with certainty the one way by which I may reach bliss.

What it means

"Tell me with certainty the one way." Arjuna wants a single instruction, not a menu. The honest teacher will complicate the picture first, because real life holds more than one valid path.

Try this today

Arjuna asks for a single clear instruction. The demand for one path is understandable; the answer will be that paths fit temperaments.

Something to reflect on

Do I want one answer because it is right, or because it relieves me of choosing?
