Bhagavad Gita 3.22
न मे पार्थास्ति कर्तव्यं त्रिषु लोकेषु किञ्चन। नानवाप्तमवाप्तव्यं वर्त एव च कर्मणि॥
na me pārthāsti kartavyaṁ triṣhu lokeṣhu kiñchana nānavāptam avāptavyaṁ varta eva cha karmaṇi
Translation
There is nothing in the three worlds, O Pârtha, that should be done by Me, nor anything unattained that might be attained; yet I mingle in action.
What it means
There is nothing in the three worlds I must do, nothing unattained I might gain; yet I act. Krishna models the highest motive: action from abundance, not need.
Try this today
Krishna's own example: acting from abundance, not need. Work as overflow, not hunger.
Something to reflect on
What would I keep doing even if nothing depended on it?
