Bhagavad Gita 3.43
एवं बुद्धेः परं बुद्ध्वा संस्तभ्यात्मानमात्मना। जहि शत्रुं महाबाहो कामरूपं दुरासदम्॥
evaṁ buddheḥ paraṁ buddhvā sanstabhyātmānam ātmanā jahi śhatruṁ mahā-bāho kāma-rūpaṁ durāsadam
Translation
Thus understanding Him as greater than the Reason, restraining the self by the Self, slay thou, O mighty-armed, the enemy in the form of desire, difficult to overcome.
What it means
Knowing the Self as beyond the intellect, steadying the mind by the Self, slay the enemy in the form of desire, hard to conquer. The final weapon is identity itself: stand as the Self, and desire loses its leverage.

Chapter 3 closes: the fight against compulsive desire is winnable, from the deepest layer of oneself upward.
Something to reflect on
What would standing deeper than my excuses look like in this one habit?
