The Gita · Chapter 4

Bhagavad Gita 4.24

ब्रह्मार्पणं ब्रह्महविर्ब्रह्माग्नौ ब्रह्मणा हुतम्। ब्रह्मैव तेन गन्तव्यं ब्रह्मकर्मसमाधिना॥

brahmārpaṇaṁ brahma havir brahmāgnau brahmaṇā hutam brahmaiva tena gantavyaṁ brahma-karma-samādhinā

Translation

The Eternal the oblation, the Eternal the clarified butter, are offered in the Eternal the fire by the Eternal; unto the Eternal verily shall he go who in his action meditateth wholly upon the Eternal.

What it means

The offering is the Eternal, the oblation is the Eternal, offered by the Eternal into the fire of the Eternal; the Eternal is reached by one who sees the Eternal in all action. Actor, act and goal are one. Worship becomes the recognition of unity.

Try this today

The ritual fully interiorized: offerer, offering, fire and goal are one reality. Action and its object lose their separation.

Something to reflect on

Can I see doer, deed and purpose as one movement rather than three transactions?
