Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 4

Bhagavad Gita 4.9

जन्म कर्म च मे दिव्यमेवं यो वेत्ति तत्त्वतः। त्यक्त्वा देहं पुनर्जन्म नैति मामेति सोऽर्जुन॥

janma karma cha me divyam evaṁ yo vetti tattvataḥ tyaktvā dehaṁ punar janma naiti mām eti so ’rjuna

Translation

He who thus knoweth My divine birth and action, in its essence, having abandoned the body, cometh not to birth again, but cometh unto Me, O Arjuna.

What it means

Whoever truly knows the divine birth and action is not reborn after leaving the body, but comes to Me. Understanding what the Divine does in the world transforms what happens to us at death.

Try this today

Understanding the nature of the divine action - not merely believing the story - is declared liberating.

Something to reflect on

Do I understand what I admire, or only repeat its story?
