Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 5

Bhagavad Gita 5.21

बाह्यस्पर्शेष्वसक्तात्मा विन्दत्यात्मनि यत्सुखम्। स ब्रह्मयोगयुक्तात्मा सुखमक्षयमश्नुते॥

bāhya-sparśheṣhvasaktātmā vindatyātmani yat sukham sa brahma-yoga-yuktātmā sukham akṣhayam aśhnute

Translation

He, whose self is unattached to external contacts and findeth joy in the Self, having the self harmonised with the Eternal by yoga, enjoys imperishable bliss.

What it means

With self unattached to outer contacts, finding joy within, united with the Eternal through yoga, one enjoys imperishable bliss. The upgrade is permanent: from leased pleasures to owned peace.

Try this today

Two joy sources contrasted: contact-based joy expires; Self-based joy does not.

Something to reflect on

Which of my pleasures are leased, expiring the moment the source withdraws?
