Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 5

Bhagavad Gita 5.6

संन्यासस्तु महाबाहो दुःखमाप्तुमयोगतः। योगयुक्तो मुनिर्ब्रह्म नचिरेणाधिगच्छति॥

sannyāsas tu mahā-bāho duḥkham āptum ayogataḥ yoga-yukto munir brahma na chireṇādhigachchhati

Translation

But without yoga, O mighty-armed, renunciation is hard to attain to; the yoga-harmonised Muni swiftly goeth to the Eternal.

What it means

Without yoga, renunciation is hard to attain; but the sage harmonized by yoga quickly reaches the Eternal. Quitting without inner training usually fails. Work done in the right spirit is itself the training.

Try this today

Dropping action without inner discipline is nearly impossible; the disciplined actor arrives faster than the undisciplined abstainer.

Something to reflect on

Have I tried quitting something without building the inner muscle first?
