The Gita · Chapter 6

Bhagavad Gita 6.14

प्रशान्तात्मा विगतभीर्ब्रह्मचारिव्रते स्थितः। मनः संयम्य मच्चित्तो युक्त आसीत मत्परः॥

praśhāntātmā vigata-bhīr brahmachāri-vrate sthitaḥ manaḥ sanyamya mach-chitto yukta āsīta mat-paraḥ

Translation

The self serene, fearless, firm in the vow of the Brahmachâri, the mind controlled, thinking on Me, harmonised, let him sit aspiring after Me.

What it means

Serene, fearless, firm in continence, mind controlled, thinking of Me, let one sit harmonized, intent on Me as the supreme goal. The final aim personalizes the practice: not blankness, but the Divine as the object of gathered mind.

Try this today

The inner posture added to the outer: calm, courage, commitment, and a single object of thought.

Something to reflect on

What is the single object my gathered mind returns to?
