Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 6

Bhagavad Gita 6.17

युक्ताहारविहारस्य युक्तचेष्टस्य कर्मसु। युक्तस्वप्नावबोधस्य योगो भवति दुःखहा॥

yuktāhāra-vihārasya yukta-cheṣhṭasya karmasu yukta-svapnāvabodhasya yogo bhavati duḥkha-hā

Translation

Yoga killeth out all pain for him who is regulated in eating and amusement, regulated in performing actions, regulated in sleeping and waking.

What it means

For one moderate in food and recreation, measured in work, regulated in sleep and waking, yoga destroys all sorrow. Rhythm heals. A life with steady cadence becomes the instrument of peace.

Try this today

Regulation across four daily domains is presented as the whole foundation: food, play, work, sleep.

Something to reflect on

Which of my four rhythms - food, play, work, sleep - is most off cadence?
