The Gita · Chapter 6

Bhagavad Gita 6.2

यं संन्यासमिति प्राहुर्योगं तं विद्धि पाण्डव। न ह्यसंन्यस्तसङ्कल्पो योगी भवति कश्चन॥

yaṁ sannyāsam iti prāhur yogaṁ taṁ viddhi pāṇḍava na hyasannyasta-saṅkalpo yogī bhavati kaśhchana

Translation

That which is called renunciation, know thou that as yoga, O Pândava; nor doth any one become a Yogî with the formative will unrenounced.

What it means

What is called renunciation, know to be yoga itself; no one becomes a yogi without renouncing self-willed design. Letting go of private agenda is common to both paths.

Try this today

Two vocabularies, one practice: giving up the grasping intention is both renunciation and yoga.

Something to reflect on

What private agenda am I carrying into work that is supposed to be service?
