Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 6

Bhagavad Gita 6.44

पूर्वाभ्यासेन तेनैव ह्रियते ह्यवशोऽपि सः। जिज्ञासुरपि योगस्य शब्दब्रह्मातिवर्तते॥

pūrvābhyāsena tenaiva hriyate hyavaśho ’pi saḥ jijñāsur api yogasya śhabda-brahmātivartate

Translation

By that former practice he is irresistibly swept away. Only wishing to know yoga, even the seeker after yoga goeth beyond the Brâhmic world;

What it means

By that former practice one is carried forward irresistibly; even one who merely seeks to know yoga goes beyond the word-bound world. Old momentum pulls. Even curiosity about the path outranks stagnant ritual.

Try this today

Mere sincere curiosity already outruns ritual: the wish itself has momentum.

Something to reflect on

Is my curiosity about the path itself already pulling me somewhere?
