Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 6

Bhagavad Gita 6.7

जितात्मनः प्रशान्तस्य परमात्मा समाहितः। शीतोष्णसुखदुःखेषु तथा मानापमानयोः॥

jitātmanaḥ praśhāntasya paramātmā samāhitaḥ śhītoṣhṇa-sukha-duḥkheṣhu tathā mānāpamānayoḥ

Translation

The higher Self of him who is Self -controlled and peaceful is uniform in cold and heat, pleasure and pain, as well as in honour and dishonour.

What it means

Of the self-conquered, peaceful person, the higher Self stands unshaken in cold and heat, pleasure and pain, honor and dishonor. Stability across extremes is the signature of the conquest.

Try this today

Equipoise measured across four axes: temperature, feeling, and social valuation.

Something to reflect on

Which axis shakes me most - discomfort, pain, or other people's opinion?
