The Gita · Chapter 6

Bhagavad Gita 6.8

ज्ञानविज्ञानतृप्तात्मा कूटस्थो विजितेन्द्रियः। युक्त इत्युच्यते योगी समलोष्टाश्मकाञ्चनः॥

jñāna-vijñāna-tṛiptātmā kūṭa-stho vijitendriyaḥ yukta ityuchyate yogī sama-loṣhṭāśhma-kāñchanaḥ

Translation

The Yogî who is satisfied with wisdom and knowledge, unwavering, whose senses are sub dued, to whom a lump of earth, a stone and gold are the same, is said to be harmonised.

What it means

Content with knowledge and realization, unshaken, senses mastered, seeing a clod, a stone and gold as equal: that yogi is called harmonized. Equal valuation of matter is a symptom of a deeper settlement: nothing material can add or subtract worth.

Try this today

Equal valuation of earth and gold: not indifference to quality, but freedom from the spell of price.

Something to reflect on

Can I handle the expensive and the cheap without either one changing my pulse?
