Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 7

Bhagavad Gita 7.14

दैवी ह्येषा गुणमयी मम माया दुरत्यया। मामेव ये प्रपद्यन्ते मायामेतां तरन्ति ते॥

daivī hyeṣhā guṇa-mayī mama māyā duratyayā mām eva ye prapadyante māyām etāṁ taranti te

Translation

This divine illusion of Mine, caused by the qualities, is hard to pierce; they who come to Me, they cross over this illusion.

What it means

This divine illusion of Mine, made of the gunas, is hard to cross; those who take refuge in Me cross over this illusion. Maya is described as divine in origin and conquerable only by divine help. Surrender is the crossing, not cleverness.

Try this today

Maya declared genuinely difficult - no shame in finding it so - and refuge named as the way through.

Something to reflect on

Where have I been trying cleverness when the honest move is to ask for help?
