Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 7

Bhagavad Gita 7.27

इच्छाद्वेषसमुत्थेन द्वन्द्वमोहेन भारत। सर्वभूतानि संमोहं सर्गे यान्ति परन्तप॥

ichchhā-dveṣha-samutthena dvandva-mohena bhārata sarva-bhūtāni sammohaṁ sarge yānti parantapa

Translation

By the delusion of the pairs of opposites, sprung from attraction and repulsion, O Bhârata, all beings walk this universe wholly deluded, O Parantapa.

What it means

By the delusion of the pairs of opposites, born of attraction and aversion, all beings fall into confusion at birth. Our default settings are like and dislike. Confusion is the factory setting; clarity is the achievement.

Try this today

The birth-defect of perception: we arrive sorting everything into want and avoid, and that sorting hides the whole.

Something to reflect on

What did I sort into want or avoid before I even tasted it today?
