Bhagavad Gita 8.9

कविं पुराणमनुशासितार मणोरणीयांसमनुस्मरेद्यः। सर्वस्य धातारमचिन्त्यरूप मादित्यवर्णं तमसः परस्तात्॥

kaviṁ purāṇam anuśhāsitāram aṇor aṇīyānsam anusmared yaḥ sarvasya dhātāram achintya-rūpam āditya-varṇaṁ tamasaḥ parastāt

Translation

He who thinketh upon the Ancient, the Omniscient, the All-Ruler, minuter than the minute, the supporter of all, of form unimaginable, refulgent as the sun beyond the darkness,

What it means

Who meditates on the Ancient, the omniscient Ruler of all, subtler than the subtle, supporter of all, of inconceivable form, luminous like the sun beyond darkness. The attributes pile up to exhaust imagination. Meditation aims past every picture.

Try this today

The meditation object described: oldest, smallest, all-holding, luminous - a focus beyond all images yet illuminating all.

Something to reflect on

Can I aim my mind past every picture of the goal I carry?
