Bhagavad Gita 9.17

पिताऽहमस्य जगतो माता धाता पितामहः। वेद्यं पवित्रमोंकार ऋक् साम यजुरेव च॥

pitāham asya jagato mātā dhātā pitāmahaḥ vedyaṁ pavitram oṁkāra ṛik sāma yajur eva cha

Translation

I the Father of this universe, the Mother, the Supporter, the Grandsire, the Holy one to be known, the Word of Power, and also the Rik, Sâma, and Yajur,

What it means

I am the father of this universe, the mother, the sustainer, the grandsire, the object of knowledge, the purifier, the syllable Aum, and the three Vedas. Every relationship and every sacred text resolves into one. Devotion needs no second address.

Try this today

Family, scripture and sanctity itself all named as the one reality.

Something to reflect on

Which relationship - parent, guide, ancestor - do I need most this year, and who fills it?
