The Gita · Chapter 9

Bhagavad Gita 9.18

गतिर्भर्ता प्रभुः साक्षी निवासः शरणं सुहृत्। प्रभवः प्रलयः स्थानं निधानं बीजमव्ययम्॥

gatir bhartā prabhuḥ sākṣhī nivāsaḥ śharaṇaṁ suhṛit prabhavaḥ pralayaḥ sthānaṁ nidhānaṁ bījam avyayam

Translation

The Path, Husband, Lord, Witness, Abode, Shelter, Lover, Origin, Dissolution, Foundation, house, Seed imperishable.

What it means

I am the goal, the upholder, the lord, the witness, the abode, the refuge, the friend, the origin, dissolution, foundation, treasure-house, and the imperishable seed. The titles accumulate to say: whatever you need, that is what the Divine is.

Try this today

A litany of relationships: whatever role you need, that is what is there.

Something to reflect on

What do I actually need right now - path, shelter, witness, friend - and where do I seek it?
